Test out of some classes to get closer to your degree at UMGC in Europe.
National Test Centers (NTCs) offer on-site testing services to include College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), and Pearson VUE online examinations and certifications. Availability of exams is specific to your location. Please contact your NTC to see what is offered.
Who is Eligible?
Examinations are available to U.S. active duty military servicemembers and eligible civilian employees and, on a space-available basis, to all other examinees who have a U.S. military ID card and base access. The ID card presented must be unexpired and list Authorized Patronage for MWR. Testers turned away at the base gate or at the test center due to insufficient privileges will be marked as "No Show" which may prevent refunds of pre-paid examination fees.
Some contractors, local nationals, and NATO employees may need to supply additional authorization information, and are encouraged to verify eligibility or request an exception prior to registering for an exam. To confirm eligibility, please email ntc-europe@umgc.edu before making an appointment.
Please note: For some exams, an additional $35 sitting fee for testing will be payable to UMGC Europe. Sitting fees can be paid via credit or debit card at the NTC. We cannot accept cash payments for sitting fees at this time.
- If you are taking a DANTES-funded exam, the $35 sitting fee will be waived.
- If you are taking a Pearson VUE exam, the $35 sitting fee will be waived.
- If you are taking non-funded CLEP or DSST exams (including any retake exams by active-duty servicemembers), the $35 sitting fee will apply per exam title (e.g., if you take two CLEP exams during one testing session, a $35 sitting fee will be charged twice for a total of $70).
- All other third-party exams not listed above will incur the $35 sitting fee per exam.

Receive college credit by earning qualifying scores on specific examinations. Disciplines include composition, literature, foreign languages, history, social sciences, science, mathematics, and business. To learn how CLEP exams can be articulated for UMGC credit, see course equivalents.
For complete instructions, please select your local site.
College credit is available in over 30 unique subjects. Disciplines include business, humanities, mathematics, physical science, and more. To learn how DSST exams can be articulated for UMGC credit, see course equivalents.
The GED test credential is the only high school equivalency credential recognized in all 50 states. The test consists of five different test sections: social studies, science, reading, mathematics, and writing and costs $30 for each section or $120 for all sections. Sign up for test and practice materials on the GED website.
GED is no longer DANTES funded for active duty servicemembers and their families. To test at a military testing center, please create a GED account and then call GED to set your profile to the GED Employer Program. Please ensure GED staff assist you with scheduling your exam as it is not possible to do so online on your own. If you are an eligible servicemember seeking reimbursement, you must make an Electronic Reimbursement Request online with DANTES.
