While most UMGC courses use no-cost electronic resources, there are some exceptions where students may need to purchase materials. These typically include:
Stateside online courses
On-site, virtual, and hybrid classes in Europe
In these cases, students may be required to purchase licensed digital content or specialized software platforms, such as WileyPLUS or McGraw Hill Connect.
To help students prepare, we strongly recommend that students:
Work with their local representative before registering to be informed on any additional costs
Most on-site and hybrid courses use no-cost digital materials, or the required textbook is automatically provided during the first-class session. However, some courses may still require students to purchase additional online content.
To confirm what materials are needed for your course, talk to your local UMGC representative or email AcademicAffairs-Europe@umgc.edu for assistance.
Courses offered through Salisbury University (SU) typically require the purchase of textbooks. You will receive a detailed textbook list 2–4 weeks before the start of each term for planning purposes.
