Develop Advanced Skills & Knowledge

Today’s employers understand that their financial assets must be protected from ongoing cyber threats. That’s why companies are looking for high-quality employees with the in-demand cybersecurity, accounting, and financial skillsets needed to anticipate such threats. UMGC’s cyberaccounting program is designed to help students fill that need. This online program is designed to equip you with hands-on experience in data analytics and visualization, risk analysis, corporate governance, and risk management.

Our program directors refresh and update the curriculum regularly, with a focus on helping students achieve these learning goals:

Practice Real-World Skills in Your CyberAccounting Courses

Throughout your curriculum, your instructors will assign coursework that will help you prioritize real-world skills and experience. In past courses, students have been able to complete the following course projects:

  • Create a cyber risk analysis and automation techniques based on Excel and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Prepare a SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance report explaining the cost-benefit analysis of implementing processes and SOX audit readiness.
  • Develop a "bot” to complete Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tasks, supported by analysis and data analytics on the efficiency and effectiveness of the bot.
