Prepare to become a leader in the protection of data with a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity management and policy from UMGC. This innovative program uses a multidisciplinary approach, drawing from fields such as management, law, science, business, technology, and psychology. Designed with input from employers, industry experts, and scholars, the curriculum combines theories with real-world applications to provide you with skills for protecting critical cyber infrastructure.

Note:  (3 Credits, CMIT 202) and (3 Credits, IFSM 201) are recommended prerequisites for the major that will need to be taken in the general education and/or elective areas of your degree plan. 

A degree with a major in cybersecurity management and policy requires the successful completion of 120 credits of coursework, including 33 credits for the major; 41 credits in general education requirements; and 46 credits in the minor, electives, and other degree requirements. At least 17 credits in the major must be earned in upper-level courses (numbered 300 or above). See overall degree requirements.

Since some recommended courses fulfill more than one requirement, substituting courses for those listed may require you to take additional courses to meet degree requirements. Consult an advisor whenever taking advantage of other options.
