UMGC Europe has the unique opportunity to provide classes to our learners overseas who meet the admission and eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements: Members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their family members residing within an overseas contracted location in the Europe (EUCOM), Africa (AFRICOM), and Central (CENTCOM) theaters may enroll in classes through University of Maryland Global Campus Europe.
Admission requirements: See undergraduate or graduate admission.
If you meet one of the following categories and have logistical support privileges through the U.S. military services or U.S. Government, you may be eligible for admission:
U.S. active-duty military personnel and their dependents
U.S. DoD civilians / contractors and their dependents
U.S. state department personnel
U.S. armed forces retirees
NATO-sponsored personnel (non-citizen of duty station country)
Note: Some categories may have access to the base but with limited or no privileges. Please visit your local education center to verify your ID card and to determine your eligibility.
You can also contact our Student Services department via studentservices-europe@umgc.edu if you have any questions. You may need to provide a copy of your employment letter/orders to confirm your eligibility.
To get started, follow these steps:
- Apply for Admission
- Go to the Online Application
- Select Europe Undergraduate (certificate program, associate, or bachelor's degree) or Europe Graduate (certificate program or master's degree)
- Complete and submit the form (your UserID and password will be e-mailed to you)
- Pay the application fee through MyUMGC
- Request your official high school transcript, GED, or international evaluation to submit to UMGC before the end of the term following the term in which you are admitted. (Joint Services Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) are also accepted to meet admission requirement.)
- Meet your Academic Advisor
- Map out classes and see how previous credits may transfer to your program with your local academic advisor. Request a no-cost Fast Plan to get started with your degree.

Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Space Force Active Duty - Contact your local program coordinator
- Register for Classes
- All Active Duty Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Space Force Spouses, Family Members, and DoD Civilians:
- Choose courses to take from the current schedule. Be sure to write down the five-digit class number.
- Next, log in to MyUMGC
- Navigate to: Student Center Academics Enroll Enter class number press Enter OR Click Search Find your preferred class Click Select Class
- Click Next to add class to your Shopping Cart Click on Proceed to Step 2 of 3 Click Finish Enrolling (if there is a green check mark under Status, you are successfully enrolled)
- All Active Duty Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Space Force Spouses, Family Members, and DoD Civilians:
- Request an Official Evaluation
- Request official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended, Joint Services Transcript (if current or former military), CLEP, DANTES, DLPT, ECEP, or AP test results. Student educated abroad must have your records evaluated by an approved agency. Send them directly from each institution to:

- Upon receipt of your last required transcript, it will take approximately up to two weeks for your official evaluation to be completed.
- You can see the status of your incoming transcripts, by
- logging in to MyUMGC,
- selecting the Academic History section
- checking the tab with the heading Education from Other Institutions
