Educational offerings and student services dedicated to veterans and family members.
UMGC's Office of Veterans Initiatives and Outreach helps ensure veterans receive the resources, support, and advocacy they need to succeed in transitioning after the military, earning a degree, and starting a successful civilian career.
UMGC is introducing a digital communication and networking tool exclusively for UMGC's military and veteran community. It will provide a central place for you to get the support you need to make a successful transition to civilian life. You can access timely, relevant information about academic success and career opportunities, connect with fellow UMGC students who've served in the military, work with our military and veterans advisors, and more.
This tool is available to all transitioning military who are planning to separate within the next two years as well as veterans. To enroll in MIL-VET Checkpoint, please send your name, and contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The VRC will confirm your status as a current student and enroll you into MIL-VET Checkpoint.
SALUTE Honor Society
SALUTE is a nationally recognized honor society for military and veteran students at two-year and four-year institutions of higher education. Established in 2009, SALUTE is the first national honor society for active-duty military servicemembers, National Guard members, reservists, retirees, and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Eliminating Barriers to Success
The Office of Accessibility Services collaborates with the campus community to provide accommodations for veteran students with disabilities to ensure students are able to fully participate in all aspects of the classroom and online experience. Types of disabilities that warrant accommodations may include but are not limited to learning, physical, psychological, and/or medical disabilities. Read more about Accessibility Services.
