You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!: How to Write and Publish Creative Nonfiction and Memoir
Workshop Synopsis: Nobody can tell your story like YOU can. Learn to take your adventures from memory to the page with this interactive workshop on writing both creative nonfiction and memoir. Find out how to connect with potential publishers and publications, and the steps for submitting your stories. Bring laptops, notebooks, and take that first step towards seeing your name in print.
About the presenter:
Dr. Malia McCarrick teaches writing, speech, and film for UMGC Europe. She has published creative nonfiction in the Bright Flash Literary Review, Spank the Carp, and a memoir in the New Feathers Anthology and Persimmon Tree, as well as numerous music and martial arts pieces in Jazziz, Tae Kwon Do Times, and several Michigan publications. She holds a Ph.D. in creative writing.
UMGC Europe MCW workshops are open to members of the U.S. military community in Europe.
Affiliation with UMGC is not required. Writers of all genres are welcome to all meetings and workshops.
