How much does it cost to sign up?
There is a $35 non-refundable application fee charge when you sign up. You are responsible for the fee each term that you use a payment plan.
If I sign up today for a payment plan, how much is required?
At the time of enrollment the non-refundable application fee of $35 is due as well as the first installment. The installment amount will vary based on the total number of months and the total amount of the plan.
How long is the payment plan term?
Payment plans open for each term on the first day of registration. The earlier you enroll, the longer you can stretch your payments. All payment plans must be paid in full by the end of the term: December for fall, May for spring, and July for summer.
Are payment plans credit based?
No. There is no credit check and no interest fees.
What is the interest rate for a payment plan?
UMGC's monthly payment plans are interest free.
How long will it take for a payment plan to reflect on my account in PeopleSoft?
The payment plan will reflect in PeopleSoft immediately after it has been created in TouchNet.
Can I enroll into multiple payment plans at the same time?
Yes, since UMGC typically offers enrollment in two terms at any given time, you will be allowed to sign-up for a plan to cover each term. However, please note that overlapping payment plans will require two separate payments each month. For example, if enrolled in a fall plan that does not end until December, you will need to make two payments if you sign up for a spring plan between September and December.
Why will I receive notices about an outstanding balance when I signed up for a prior balance payment plan?
All payment plans are due on the 15th of the month. If you become delinquent on your plan, UMGC will notify you. Ultimately, if the payment is not received by the last business day of the month, OSA will cancel the plan. This will create a balance on the account that could cause disenrollment or further collection outreach.
If a late payment is submitted to my payment plan, will fees be assessed?
No. There are no fees for late payments.
What, if any, consequences are there if I miss a payment?

If I adjust enrollment (adding or dropping class), will the plan automatically adjust the total?
Yes. The plan will adjust automatically whether there is an increase or decrease in the total due in a given term. However, if you add a class and the next installment is due within 14 days, the next installment amount will not be increased. Instead, the remaining installments will absorb the increase.
Can an authorized user make a payment on my payment plan?
Yes. You have the option to set-up and allow access to an authorized user, who will be able to log in to the TouchNet account to make payments on your plan.
What is the minimum balance to setup a payment plan?
In order to qualify for a standard payment plan, you must have a balance of at least $200.
