Teaching is not just about assignments on the syllabus or capstone projects at the end of a course. Rather, teaching is about widening perceptions and fostering self-growth. Professor Will Tenney believes that outstanding teachers broaden students’ conceptions of their abilities and enable them to surpass their education goals.
Will has taught for UMGC Europe since 1992 and has zigzagged throughout Germany, the Mediterranean, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan. He has a keen understanding of the challenges UMGC Europe students face and as such tries to cultivate a safe space for students to learn and grow. For him teaching ls about relationships. Teaching is one of his passions, and he finds it very fulfilling to help students achieve their educational goals.
In addition to teaching, Will loves windsurfing and hiking. He hits the mountains for day hikes whenever he can and gets excited about windy days with big waves.
