I am Shubham, a theoretical and mathematical physicist, and I have taught Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, and Astronomy at UMGC Europe since 2024, working with service members and their families in class and online.
I hold an MSc in Mathematical Physics from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where my thesis treated compactifications of Type II supergravities on Spin(7)-holonomy manifolds, and an MSc in Theoretical High Energy Physics from Assam Don Bosco University, where I graduated as class valedictorian. Alongside UMGC I lead tutorials at JGU Mainz across the theoretical physics core, from mathematical methods through quantum field theory, and I begin doctoral research in quantum gravity there this autumn.
My teaching rests on one conviction: a formula you can only reproduce is a formula you do not yet own. I want students to see why a method works, and I have found that patience and clear first-principles reasoning carry almost anyone through material they were told was beyond them.
I am a member of the American Physical Society and a lifetime member of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers.
Outside class, I have built a magneto-optical trap and measured the pion's lifetime on a Swiss beamline. Ask me about either.
