I'm an English instructor with more than twenty-three years of experience teaching academic writing, public speaking, communication, and English for Specific Purposes. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups of students in international settings, and teaching has remained one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I genuinely enjoy supporting students as they discover their strengths, build confidence, and learn to express their ideas with clarity and purpose.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in empathy, openness, and a strong belief in the potential of every learner. I aim to create a classroom environment where students feel understood, motivated, and encouraged to take intellectual risks. I value clear structure, practical strategies, and constructive feedback that helps students grow at their own pace while feeling supported throughout the process. I have taught a wide range of writing and communication courses, and I am particularly interested in assessment literacy, curriculum design, and effective academic support practices. I enjoy exploring how language and communication shape our experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. I am excited to join the UMGC Europe community and look forward to contributing to a learning environment that values curiosity, growth, and meaningful communication.
