Dr. Mindy Otis started her training in clinical psychology with a specialization in behavioral medicine and completed her first post-doctoral training in health psychology. She then moved into k-12 education and completed post graduate coursework at Southern Connecticut State University and The University of Connecticut in Educational Administration and leadership culminating in Connecticut State Certification as a public-school administrator and as a school district superintendent.
As a public and private school administrator, Dr. Otis served as a school principal, director of special education, Title IX coordinator and 504 coordinator. She is also a certified school psychologist and licensed psychologist in Connecticut. Following many years working in public and private school districts and various clinical settings, Dr. Otis completed a second post-doctoral training and certification in neuropsychology through the Fielding Graduate University.
She maintains an interest in neuroscience and the mind/body connection. Dr. Otis believes all students, regardless of educational background or disability, have the potential to achieve academically. She is committed to finding the most effective methods to help students achieve their goals. When she is not teaching, one can find her at the gym, in the woods, or traveling around various countries.
