Professor Mark Dorny has been teaching with UMGC Europe since 1992. During these years, he has had the opportunity to teach at locations in Germany, Spain, Turkey, and Italy. Currently, he is teaching in Sigonella, Italy—located on the island of Sicily. Before joining UMGC, he taught at Salt Lake Community College.

In the classroom, Professor Dorny strives to treat each student as a unique individual, giving each of them his respect and attention. As he teaches, he wants to help students achieve their academic goals—giving them the guidance and support that will enable them to be successful.

Professor Dorny was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his free time, he enjoys walking in the countryside—hunting for wild asparagus, lying on a Sicilian beach—listening to the sound of waves, or following his two favorite sports teams—the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Rams. Mostly, he enjoys being with his family—which in Sicily means spending a lot of time buying, preparing, and eating delicious food.
