Dr. Nixon places great emphasis on interaction in the classroom and making students think, learn and lead by suggesting many applications and examples. Her goal is not only to teach but ensure students learn the subject with as many hands-on activities as possible so that they can gain valuable experience.  In her opinion, such skills are among the most useful skills that students can acquire while learning in the classroom.

She has worked in many multicultural and multidisciplinary groups in Philippines, Malaysia, India and US, and has collaborated with many different people, from young students to famous cyber and computer groups. These experiences granted her very good experiences in intercultural competence.

To get her grounded,  Dr. Nixon loves to sing with her little Karaoke machine and be of service to cook for all her friends who enjoy and love her Asian cooking.
