With over 11 years of teaching experience, I have had the honor of working with students of all ages—from children to adults—and from incredibly diverse backgrounds. My journey has included teaching family members of U.S. military personnel stationed in Grafenwöhr and Vilseck, as well as German refugees, experiences that have deeply shaped my understanding of resilience, adaptability, and the power of education. Currently, I teach at a middle school and am excited to now contribute to the UMGC community at the university level.
My teaching philosophy centers on connection, curiosity, and confidence. I believe that learning should be engaging, inclusive, and empowering—meeting students where they are, honoring their unique experiences, and helping them grow. I strive to create a welcoming space where questions are celebrated and learning is a shared journey.
Outside of teaching, I find peace and joy in fishing and gardening. Both remind me of the importance of patience, presence, and nurturing growth—qualities I carry into every classroom I enter.
I am truly passionate about both learning and teaching, and I look forward to supporting and inspiring UMGC students as they pursue their academic and professional goals.
