I love teaching history. I began my teaching career while still in Law School. I taught history as an adjunct at the University of Dayton from 1988 to 1990. Later on, I taught history and philosophy at Johnson and Wales University as an adjunct while working as an attorney at a bank. When I made the move to Spain I taught full time in a private high school. I joined the UMGC staff as an adjunct professor in 2018. I've been happily teaching with UMGC Europe in Rota ever since.

For me the classroom experience is thrilling. In the classroom we get to share our thoughts and ideas and we can learn far more than the subject at hand. We can learn to use history to analyze what goes on around us and to make completely informed decisions. History for me is more than a look into the past but a way to see the future. It is a joy for me when my students leave my class having learned something that they can apply in their lives.

Apart from teaching, I enjoy cycling, reading historical biography and historical fiction. I'm an avid fan of movies, especially of the golden age of Hollywood.
