My teaching journey began when I started my Master of Science degree, in the fall of 2014. Later at the University of Padova, when I was a PhD Student, I had the privilege of being more involved in teaching excellence.
My core teaching philosophy is that student-driven learning only succeeds if educators are willing to listen, adapt, and provide the type of classroom experience conducive to learning. My goal as an educator is to actively engage students with class materials to foster their enthusiasm and develop the skills they need to interact with that new knowledge on their own.
I rely on my own enthusiasm about the material to engage students in learning. I am emotive when lecturing and try to be funny/jovial, which I find breaks down the walls between student and lecturer. I try to approach every class with the mindset that today I might inspire someone to dig a little deeper, ask a few more questions, and participate in discussion. Every class is an opportunity to inspire, and it’s my job to provide the tools, framework, impetus for students to grab hold of their learning and take it where they want to go.
My interests outside of class include running, hiking, rock climbing, Tennis and reading books. I'm a nature lover. Plants and flowers make me happy!
