I am an interdisciplinary linguist with a background in Lexicography, Corpus Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, and Critical Discourse Analysis, with a focus on the intersections of language, gender, and sexuality. My PhD research explores how gender and non-heteronormativity are represented in lexicographic works, reflecting my broader interest in the sociolinguistic dimensions of language.
My publication record includes several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as the edited volume Linguistic Perspectives on Sexuality in Education (Palgrave Macmillan). These works engage with topics such as gender representation and the political discourse surrounding non-heteronormative identities.
As a teacher, I am a big fan of blended teaching and a flipped classroom approach, which puts students’ needs first and fosters active participation. I treasure student input and feedback, constantly adapting the classroom experience to ensure it’s student-centered.
In my classes, students not only master writing techniques but also engage with topics relevant to global citizenship, all while considering their unique American and military identities. If you don’t see me teaching or researching, you’ll likely find me walking my two Dobermans in the Bavarian forests.
