I started working at UMGC in 2025 and I am thrilled to be teaching military-connected learners. To be able to share my enthusiasm for the sciences, food, and health is an honor. As a public health professional, I am always connecting individual health with broader societal issues, and love when my students make those connections as well. My motivation for teaching comes from a desire to connect with others, share ideas, and be a positive force in helping learners thrive. I believe that everyone can meet their educational goals with support and motivation from those around them.

I grew up in the beautiful desert of Tucson, Arizona and still go home whenever I can to hike among the saguaros and eat the most delicious Mexican food. As a military spouse, I have had the privilege of moving all over the U.S. and the world. Before arriving in Stuttgart, I spent three years in Lusaka, Zambia with my spouse, our three kids and our two dogs. The incredible culture and stunning wildlife we got to see and experience there was inspiring.

Outside of the classroom, I can usually be found, predictably, in the kitchen, or with my family exploring nature.
