While you might know me as your local academic advisor in Naples, I am excited to see you in the classroom as your PACE, LIBS, or COMM instructor! I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, spent exciting years as a student in Texas and Florida, and now live in Naples, Italy as a senior academic advisor helping Europe students plan their courses and cultivate goals and beliefs to transfer their education experience.
In the classroom, I’m excited to help students develop not just knowledge of the course content, but skills and abilities for how to learn and study in virtual and in-person classrooms that can be transferred to any other course or learning experience. My goal is to help students become proficient learners with strong analytical and communication skills, but also to leave the course empowered and capable to make choices and plans that further their personal and professional goals.
As an academic, I study and write on mentoring for higher education student success and feminist theatre in India and Pakistan. I am a member of the National Mentoring Institute (NMI) and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
When not in class or in my office, I love hiking and exploring Europe with my husband, daughters, and Great Dane. I love to read and would love a book recommendation from you—my goal is to read 100 books each year and I’ll try any genre!
