I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the Guyanese tradition. In 2025, I assumed the role of adjunct associate professor at UMGC. My professional background spans various positions in higher education, including teaching English as a foreign language at Bilkent University in Turkey and lecturing at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus, where I taught English as a New Language Methods for early childhood and special education teachers and administrators.
I was also Director of Teacher Residency at Touro Graduate School of Education in New York City while at the same time teaching the courses Second Language Learning in Academic Content Areas and The Professional Teacher. Additionally, I worked as an Assistant Professor of English at the American University of Iraq - Baghdad, teaching Public Speaking, Expository Writing, and Educational Psychology.
I am certified to teach Prekindergarten through Grade 12, specializing in Childhood and Special Education for all grades. Furthermore, I hold a qualified teacher status in England and Wales. My range of life and educational experiences globally has shaped my approach and enabled me to teach learners of all ages and backgrounds.
