Hello, I joined UMGC in 2025 as an adjunct assistant professor for homeland security. I have been working in the Intelligence and Government Sector since 2009 when I joined the US Army. From 2009-2017, I served all over the world: South Korea, Afghanistan, Germany, Estonia, Washington State and Kosovo. Since 2019, I have been a Department of Defense employee in Louisiana and Germany, as an Intelligence Specialist and Security Specialist. My current role is the Command Foreign Disclosure Officer for the 7th Army Training Command.
My educational journey started in 2009 at Cochise College in Sierra Vista, AZ. Since then I have obtained a bachelors of applied science in intelligence operations from the University of Arizona in 2019, and a masters of professional studies in applied intelligence from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 2021. I understand the challenges with working a full time job and completing educational goals as I have completed all of my education as a working adult with a job, a wife, and a kid. My goal is to ensure that students have a well rounded education from a working professional in the field with real world experience who understands the challenges of attending school while working, having a family, and adult responsibilities.
Outside of work, I have various hobbies depending on the season. I enjoy riding my bicycles in the summer, I regularly ride over 2000 kilometers a summer between my gravel bike and my electric mountain bike. In the winter, I enjoy downhill skiing and ski touring. I have skied over 15 days a year almost every year since I was in Junior High.
