I've been a mathematics educator for many years, starting my journey in Portugal's secondary education system. My passion for teaching and my love for mathematics led me to coordinate various educational programs and author textbooks for secondary education, which earned me an award.
In 2017, I transitioned to higher education and joined UMGC. Since then, I've had the privilege of teaching students in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and occasionally the UK. My greatest joy is being in a classroom, sharing my knowledge of mathematics with my students. My interests within mathematics extend to Number Theory, Mathematics History, Statistics, and Education.
My primary goal is to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable, valued, and empowered to learn. I believe in fostering a growth mindset and helping students overcome their fears of mathematics. I strive to make the subject relatable and enjoyable, incorporating real-world examples and encouraging active participation.
Beyond my professional life, I'm a passionate traveler. I'm also a lover of European cinema and Italian and French cuisine. Additionally, I speak French and a little bit of Spanish, and I'm currently learning Dutch. In my free time, I find solace in gardening and dance.
