I attended North Carolina State University in 2008 with the intention of becoming a large animal veterinarian. I stayed committed to this goal until my senior year when I realized it just wasn't what I wanted to do. I had no plan B, but I knew I loved education, so I decided to stay for my master's. During my time at NC State, I had worked as a teaching assistant for animal science classes, and I also taught chemistry labs to undergraduate students. It was through these experiences that I discovered my passion for teaching.
As an adjunct professor with UMGC, I am committed to upholding academic integrity by fostering a culture of honesty, trust, and respect in the learning environment. I strive to encourage my students to have original thoughts, ethical scholarship, and responsible conduct, ensuring that every member of our academic community understands the importance of integrity in both their academic and professional lives. I feel particularly privileged to contribute to the education of our service members and their families, and my biggest goal for every class is to make sure that all my students learn as much they can during the duration of my classes. I really enjoy applying the topics we are learning about to real life scenarios.
When I am not teaching, I am a wife and mom to three beautiful girls who keep me extremely busy. I enjoy traveling, baking, and spending as much time at my sewing machine as possible.
